Laura’s fascination with animals goes back farther than she can remember, as her first word was the name of the family cat, “Button”. She grew up in Maryland, riding horses and playing soccer and lacrosse. She received her BS in Geography from the University of Maryland, and concentrated on natural resource management. After volunteering at the National Zoo and a local humane society, her love of animals brought her to get her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Northern Community College. She enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and cooking, and has has two dogs and a goldfish.
